If you watch often, a Fire TV Stick or Android TV device on a spare HDMI port is the better choice. Mirroring works for occasional viewing.
1
Decide between mirroring and a stick
Mirroring is free but ties up your phone and can lower picture quality. A streaming stick costs money once and gives a much better experience.
2
To mirror: allow it on Roku
On your Roku, open Settings, then System, then Screen mirroring, and allow it. Availability depends on your model.
3
To mirror: play from your phone
Install a player on an Android phone or Windows computer, sign in, and mirror to your Roku over the same Wi-Fi network.
4
Or add a stick to a free HDMI port
Plug in a Fire TV Stick or Android TV device, change the TV input, and follow the guide for that device.
