1
Connect the network cable
Plug an Ethernet cable from your internet box into the Shield. It is the wide clip connector on the back. If that is not possible, Wi-Fi works too, but a cable is usually more reliable for live TV.
2
Update the Shield
Go to Settings, Device Preferences, then About, and choose System Upgrade. Install any update offered, and let the Shield restart.
3
Install TiviMate
Open the Play Store, the colourful triangle. Search for TiviMate and choose Install. Then choose Open.
4
Add your login
Choose Xtream Codes, then enter your server, username and password from your email. Check each letter carefully, then choose Next.
5
Wait for your channels
The app now downloads your list of channels. This can take several minutes the first time. Please leave it alone until it finishes. Pressing buttons now can stop it partway.
6
Check the picture
Go to Settings, Device Preferences, Display & Sound, and Advanced Display Settings. Look for an option to match the frame rate. Turn it on, and try a sports channel. Turn it off if the screen blinks too much.
7
Try a channel
Press the arrows to choose a channel, and press Select to watch it. If you see a picture and hear sound after a few seconds, everything is working. Well done.
