Apps store temporary files, called the cache. Over time, these can make an app slow. Clearing them is safe, and your login and favourites stay in place.
1

Press the Home button

On your Fire TV remote, find the button with a small picture of a house. Press it once. The main Fire TV screen appears. If you ever feel lost, this button always brings you back here.
2

Open Settings

Press the right side of the round ring on your remote until you reach the small gear picture on the top row. Then press the middle of the ring. This middle button is called Select, and it works like “OK”.
3

Open Applications

In Settings, press the arrows to find Applications, and press Select. This is the list of everything installed on your Fire TV.
4

Open Manage Installed Applications

Press the down arrow to reach Manage Installed Applications, then press Select. Wait a few seconds for the list to appear, as it can be slow.
5

Choose your TV app

Press the down arrow to find your TV app, such as TiviMate. Press Select to open its page.
6

Choose Force Stop

Move to Force Stop, and press Select. This simply closes the app completely. It does not delete anything.
7

Choose Clear Cache

Move to Clear Cache, and press Select. The number beside it goes down. That is all you need to do.
8

Do not choose Clear Data

Just below is Clear Data. Avoid it for now. It erases your login and your favourites, and you would need to enter them again. Use it only if we suggest it.
9

Press the Home button

On your Fire TV remote, find the button with a small picture of a house. Press it once. The main Fire TV screen appears. If you ever feel lost, this button always brings you back here.
10

Open your app and test

Open your TV app again and try a channel. It may take a little longer to start the first time. Things should feel smoother.
