1
Restart using the remote
Hold down the Select button and the Play/Pause button together. Count to five, then let go. The stick turns off and on. Nothing is deleted.
2
Or unplug it
If the remote is not working, pull the power cable out of the wall. Wait one full minute. Plug it back in.
3
Test your app
Open your TV app and try a channel. If this solved it, you are finished. If not, try clearing the cache and freeing up space. Our guides cover both.
4
Before a factory reset
A reset erases all your apps and sign-ins. Find your Amazon password, your Wi-Fi password and your welcome email first. Your TV subscription itself is not affected.
5
Open the reset screen
Press Home, then go to Settings, My Fire TV, and Reset to Factory Defaults. Choose it only when you have tried everything else.
6
Confirm
Choose Reset. The stick erases itself and restarts. This takes several minutes. Please do not unplug it.
7
Set up again
Follow the steps on the screen. Then reinstall your TV app, using our guides. Message us if you would like help.
