Taking a moment to check can save you a great deal of money and worry.
1
Keep your login private
Treat it like a bank password. Do not post it in Facebook groups or send it to strangers.
2
Be wary of urgent messages
Scammers try to rush you, with messages such as “pay today or lose your service”. Stop and take your time. Real support does not need you to panic.
3
Check where messages come from
If a message asks you to send money to a new address, contact us first using the details on this website. Never use a number given in that message.
4
Remember that Bitcoin cannot be undone
Your bank cannot reverse a Bitcoin payment. Once it is sent, it is gone. Check the address carefully, every time.
5
Refuse remote access
Do not let anyone connect to your computer or phone after an unexpected call. Hang up. We do not make such calls.
6
Avoid “free premium” apps
They may record the passwords you type. If an offer seems too good to be true, it usually is.
7
Talk to someone you trust
If something feels wrong, stop and call a family member or a friend. If you lost money, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre takes reports.
