What we collect

Information you provide directly

Name (optional in some forms), email address, phone/WhatsApp number, country (Canada or USA), device type, and details provided via support channels, contact forms, or checkout. For purchases, we collect order-specific information needed to process payment and grant access.

Technical & usage data

Cookies & similar technologies

Session cookies (essential), preference cookies, analytics cookies, and security tokens. We do not use advertising cookies that track you across unrelated third-party sites. See our Cookies section for more detail.

Information we do NOT collect

We do not store full payment card details (processed by third-party payment processors under PCI DSS). We do not collect sensitive personal information such as health data, racial or ethnic origin, or political opinions.

PIPEDA — 10 Fair Information Principles

StreamIPTV adheres to the 10 principles of Canada's PIPEDA (Schedule 1, CSA Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information):

1

Accountability

StreamIPTV is responsible for personal information under its control. Our support team (support@streamiptv.ca) handles privacy inquiries and complaints.

2

Identifying Purposes

We identify the purposes for which personal information is collected at or before the time of collection (see "How we use it" below).

3

Consent

We obtain meaningful consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information, except where permitted by law (e.g., legal obligations). Consent may be express (opt-in forms) or implied (continued use of the site after notice).

4

Limiting Collection

We collect only the information necessary for the identified purposes, by fair and lawful means.

5

Limiting Use, Disclosure & Retention

Personal information is not used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with consent or as required by law. We retain data only as long as necessary.

6

Accuracy

We keep personal information as accurate, complete, and up to date as necessary. You may request corrections at any time.

7

Safeguards

We use security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information (see "Security" section).

Openness

We make our privacy policies and practices readily available. This policy is accessible at all times at streamiptv.ca/privacy-policy.

9

Upon request, we will inform individuals of the existence, use, and disclosure of their personal information, and provide access to it. Requests are responded to within 30 days.

How we use information

  • Service delivery: Providing free trials, activating subscriptions, processing orders, granting content access, and communicating transactional information.
  • Customer support: Responding to inquiries, troubleshooting, handling refund and cancellation requests.
  • Service improvement: Analyzing usage patterns and performance metrics to optimize reliability and quality for Canadian and US customers.
  • Security & fraud prevention: Detecting abuse, preventing unauthorized account sharing, protecting infrastructure, and verifying payment legitimacy.
  • Marketing (with consent): Sending newsletters and promotional offers to opted-in subscribers. Unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email.
  • Legal compliance: Fulfilling legal obligations under Canadian and applicable US law.

When we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

Service providers (processors)

Trusted vendors that help us operate the Service: payment processors (under PCI DSS), email delivery providers, hosting infrastructure, and analytics tools. These third parties are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only as directed by us.

Legal and regulatory requirements

When required by law, court order, or governmental authority (in Canada or the USA). We disclose only what is legally required and, where permitted, will attempt to notify you in advance.

Safety & enforcement

To protect the rights, property, or safety of StreamIPTV, our customers, or others; to investigate fraud, enforce our Terms, or respond to security incidents.

Business transfers

In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale. Your data would transfer as part of the business, subject to this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of any such transfer where feasible.

Cross-border data transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside Canada, including in the United States. When personal information is transferred outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful government access. PIPEDA permits cross-border transfers to processors who provide comparable protection.

We use contractual safeguards with our processors and select providers who maintain adequate data protection standards. If you would like more information about the countries to which your data may be transferred, contact us at support@streamiptv.ca.

Security safeguards

We use layered security controls proportionate to the sensitivity of the information we hold:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all data exchanges between your browser and our servers.
  • Access controls limiting personal data access to authorized personnel only, on a need-to-know basis.
  • Server-side security monitoring and intrusion detection.
  • Regular security reviews of third-party processors and service providers.
  • Payment card data is handled by PCI DSS-compliant payment processors; StreamIPTV does not store full card numbers.

No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we strive for strong, practical protections across our infrastructure.

Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by Canadian and applicable US law:

Account & order records

Retained for the duration of the subscription plus a reasonable period for legal and dispute purposes (typically up to 3 years after account closure).

Support communications

Retained for up to 2 years to support ongoing customer service continuity.

Analytics & logs

Aggregated or anonymized data may be retained indefinitely. Identifiable server logs are typically purged after 90 days.

Marketing opt-ins

Retained until unsubscription or withdrawal of consent, plus a brief period for proof of consent.

Your rights & choices

Access & portability

Request a copy of personal information we hold about you. We will respond within 30 days (as required by PIPEDA).

Correction

Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information. We will correct records or note your disagreement where we decline.

Withdrawal of consent

Withdraw consent for marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link in emails. Note: withdrawing consent for essential service communications may affect your ability to receive the Service.

Deletion

Request deletion of your personal information where we have no legal obligation to retain it. We will honor deletion requests subject to applicable legal retention requirements.

Complaint escalation

If unsatisfied with our response, Canadian customers may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. US customers may contact applicable state privacy authorities.

To exercise any right, email support@streamiptv.ca with the subject "Privacy Request — [Your Right]" and proof of identity. We respond within 30 days.

Cookies & tracking

Essential cookies

Required for core site functionality: session management, CSRF protection, and security. Cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.

Analytics cookies

Used to understand how visitors interact with the site (page views, referrers, time on page). Data is aggregated and used to improve performance. You may opt out via browser settings.

Preference cookies

Remember your site preferences (e.g., language, display settings). Disabling may affect user experience.

You can control cookies via your browser settings. Clearing or blocking cookies may affect login sessions and site functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies that track you across unrelated websites.

Data breach notification

In the event of a privacy breach that creates a real risk of significant harm to individuals, StreamIPTV will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA's mandatory breach reporting regulations (in force since November 2018).

Notification will be provided as soon as feasible, containing a description of the breach, the type of information involved, what steps we have taken, and steps individuals can take to protect themselves. We maintain a breach record log as required by law.
