Casting sends the video from your phone to the TV. Your phone then works like a remote. It is handy, but a TV app is usually steadier.

Start

Join the same Wi-Fi

Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi as your Chromecast. Guest networks often block casting. If you are in a residence or rental, the network may block it too.

Turn on your TV

Turn on the TV, and use its remote to choose the input for your Chromecast. Press Input or Source.

Open your IPTV app

On your phone, open your app and start a channel.

Look for the cast symbol

Look for a small picture of a rectangle with curved lines in its corner. It is usually at the top of the screen. Tap it.

Choose your TV

Tap your Chromecast’s name in the list. After a moment, the video appears on the TV.

If there is no cast symbol

Your app may not support casting. Try another app, or use your phone’s Screen Cast option from its quick menu. That copies your whole screen, so turn off notifications.

Final step

Stop casting

Tap the cast symbol again, then choose Stop Casting. Your phone goes back to normal.
