Your internet box may be called a modem, a router or a gateway. Restarting it is safe and often fixes slow or broken connections.
Start
Find your internet box
It is the box from your internet company, with small lights on the front. It is often near a wall or in a closet.
Follow the power cable
Find the thick round power cable at the back. Do not touch the other cables. Follow it to the wall outlet.
Pull the plug
Pull the power plug out of the wall. If you have two boxes, unplug both of them.
Count to 30
Wait 30 seconds. This gives the box time to clear itself.
Plug it back in
Push the plug back into the wall. If you have two boxes, plug in the one with the incoming internet line first, then wait a minute before plugging in the other.
Wait three minutes
The lights blink for a while. Wait until they settle. Your internet may not work during this time. That is normal.
Final step
Test
Try your TV app again. If your internet does not come back after ten minutes, call your internet company.
