If you find typing with the arrows slow, try your voice. It works very well for opening apps and searching.

Start

Find the microphone button

Look near the top of your remote for a button with a microphone or the Alexa symbol.

Hold it and speak

Press and hold the button. Hold the remote about as far from your mouth as a phone. Speak normally. Let go when you finish.

Open your app by name

Try saying “Open TiviMate” or “Open Downloader”. The stick opens the app, if it is installed. Sometimes it may show a store page instead. Press Home and open it from your Apps list if that happens.

Ask it to go home

Try saying “Go home”. You can also try “Turn up the volume”, once your remote is set up to control your TV.

Final step

Know its limits

Alexa does not usually see the channels inside an IPTV app. It cannot switch to “CBC” for you. Use your favourites list for that. It is mainly useful for opening apps.
