Text size:
Pressing arrows for each letter can be tiring. These tips make it easier and help you avoid mistakes.
Start
Write it out large
Copy your details onto a piece of paper in large letters. Leave a gap between similar characters. Keep it next to you, so you do not need to switch between screens.
Take it one box at a time
Fill in one box, then compare it to your paper before moving on. It is easier to catch a mistake right away.
Find the capital key
Your on-screen keyboard has a key with an arrow pointing up, or the letters “ABC”. Press it to switch to capitals. Press it again to go back.
Find the numbers and symbols
Look for a key marked 123 or #$%. Characters such as the colon, the slash and the dot in a server address are usually there.
Use your phone instead
Fire TV and Google TV have free phone apps that show a keyboard on your phone. See our guide on using your phone as a remote.
Final step
Ask someone to help
A relative with sharp eyes can read the letters out to you. Many people find that one person reads while the other types. It works very well.
