Internet TV relies on your electricity and your internet. When they fail, here is what to expect.

Start

Check if it is just your TV

Try another app or website on your phone, using Wi-Fi. If nothing works, the issue is your internet, not your TV service.

Check the lights

Look at your internet box. If there are no lights, you have no power to it. If a light is red or orange, your internet company may have a problem.

Check for an outage

Use your phone’s mobile data to visit your internet company’s website or app. Many list current outages.

Stay informed safely

During a storm, a battery radio is the best tool. Do not rely on a TV app for emergency alerts. Follow official government sources.

Wait for service to return

Once the power returns, wait a few minutes for your internet box to restart. Then turn your TV back on.

Final step

Check your app

Open your app. Nothing needs to be reinstalled. If it does not reconnect, restart your device.
