AirPlay shows what is on your iPhone on your TV. Many recent Samsung, LG, Sony and Vizio TVs support it, along with any Apple TV.
Start
Join the same Wi-Fi
Connect your iPhone and your TV to the same Wi-Fi network. If they are on different networks, your TV will not appear.
Start a channel
Open your TV app on your iPhone, and begin playing a channel.
Look for the AirPlay symbol
Tap the video to show its controls. Look for a small rectangle with a triangle at the bottom. Tap it, then tap your TV’s name.
If there is no symbol
Swipe down from the top right corner of your iPhone to open Control Center. Tap Screen Mirroring, the two overlapping rectangles. Tap your TV’s name.
Enter the code if asked
A four-digit code may appear on your TV. Type it on your iPhone. It only asks the first time.
Turn your iPhone sideways
Turn your phone sideways so the picture fills the TV. Plug in your phone if you plan to watch for a while.
Final step
Stop AirPlay
Open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring and choose Stop Mirroring. Your TV returns to normal.
